I blazed a quarter mile trail at Adventure Woods, a challenge course designed to build group dynamics. The trail connected a remote element of the course to a pre-existing trail.

Arboretum construction
The purpose of this project was to locate, identify and map out each tree and shrub(121)and each memorial plaque. I developed a full color brochure describing the park and its contents. I also crafted a wooden (oak) box with lid to hold the brochures. -
Archery Range & Horseshoe Pits

Bat boxes
I organized scouts from my troop to build four large bat hotels to be hung at our local park. Studies show that bats survive the cold winter if more of them can be housed in one box. -
Bat Houses for Nature Center

Beach Volleyball Court
Constructed a sand volleyball court at the Jewish Communit Center where our Troop meets. The court is being used in the afterschool program and for summer camp. With a bobcat, we cleared an area 30 x 60 feet 4 " deep and then spread 60 yards of sand. -
Bench Building
I made 16 benches for the dugouts at local Little Leage Baseball League. I spent 12 hrs 55min planning and the total man hours were 252 hours and 55 min. I studied many different bench designs and decided to design my own. -
Bicycle Safety Program
Three part program included: 1)speakers to promote wearing bike helmets, 2)art contest with safety as the theme, and 3)A bicycle rodeo, with a bicycle safety check & a series of courses to let participants test their bike savvy & skill. -

Bike Racks
Built bike racks for the neighborhood baseball park.
Bike Registration and Safety Fair
Organized a bike registration for local neighborhoods and the police department. Also performed safety inspections on the bikes we registered. -
Bird Blind
I build a bird Blind at the local Audubon Center. The stand is about two feet off the gropund and has a solid front made from rough sawn lumber from a lumber mill in town. The Blind is used to sit in and view the wildlife without disturbing them. -
Bird Feeder Restoration
My Eagle Project consisted of repairing and painting eleven damaged bird feeders at Briar Bush Nature Center in Abington, PA. I also planted saplings and plants around the bird observatory to add to the wildlife and to enclose the area for the aimals. -
Bird Houses and Feeders
I built several designs of bird houses and bird feeders for the local middle school on their newly constructed nature trail to help attract more wildlife to the area so the younger children can learn more about wildlife in arkansas. -
Black Topping
Cleaned and repainted black top and repainted the lines and handicapped. -
Bleachers repair and painting
I had rotten boards replaced and all boards primed and painted on four sets of softball bleachers at a local field. The metal bleacher supports were all painted with Silverbrite. The four dug out benches were also included. -
Blood Drive
My project was to run a Blood drive for my church during christmas week. My goal was to have 50% increase over the 29 pints collected in the previous drives. I was able to collect 89 pints during the drive. -

I conducted a blood drive at my church and increase the donors by over 75%. -
Blue Bird Restoration
I built 50 bird houses that accomadated several different species, posted them in a regional park, and donated some to neighbors along the park. The bird houses were made out of scrap wood donated by a lumber company. -
Bone Marrow/ Blood Doner Drive
After his Father died of Lukemia, he organzied a Bone Marrow/Blood Drive. He collected over 70 pints of Blood at the donor/blood drive. He wrote and received a grant to pay the cost of the test to get the donors typed and cross matched. -
Book Drive / Library Set Up
Took place over 3 weekends. First, passed out flyers to 4 subdivisions announcing book collection. Second weekend, returned to the houses and picked up books. Third, set up library in local Ruth's House for battered women and children. -
Bookcases for Reading project
We built over 100 simple wooden bookcases for the local adult school where they had a reading program for adults. Over a series of weeks, we got donations, put them together, and painted them. -
Brochure stand
I built a brochure holder for the local Red Cross. It was like what you see at restaurants. It allowed the Red Cross to put their pamphlets in something other than scattered on a table. The stand had a strage area underneath that let them store extras. -
He build an impediments rampage in the church Corazoon de Maria in Puerto Rico , projects was named the best ever in the troop 68 life. -
Building Homes
In conjunction with Habitat for Humanity of Broward County, FL, I coordinated volunteers to construct the framing of one house. It consisted of the interior framing, roof trusses, roof sheathing, and facia boards. -
Built bird houses and feeders and squirrel feeders
I built 42 birdhouses, feeders and squirrel feeders for a local retirement village. It took over $1000.00 and 800 manhours to complete. -
Camp Juliet 1998
I was campmaster of Camp Juliet (Aug 1998), a diabetes camp, in the C.S.R.A. This camp benefits diabetic children offering a fun and educational experience of camping & coping with diabetes. Total hours of scout service= 470 -
Chair Refurbishing
For my project, 80 metal folding chairs were wire brushed, sanded, cleaned, and repainted. These chairs belong to the church that sponsors our Troop, and are used in a permanent booth at the local fairgrounds. -
Church Pavilion
I had designed and created (built) a Pavilion for my membering church. It took a few hours to do (just a couple) lol, but anyway it ended up turning out great. I 5 poles on each side to support the roof (they were weather treated.) -
Church shelter renewal
1. Put new railroad ties and regraveled a trail to Second Presbytrian Church Outdoor shelter.  
2. Installed electric lights to outdoor shelter.  
3. Built new fire pit for shelter.

Citizens Reference Guide for Crisis Intervention
Compiled a list of organizations that would provide help to citizens in our suburb. Wrote each group for their approval to be included in the book. Compiled and published the 44 page book. Distributed the books to all medical facilities, libraries, etc. -
City Rose Garden Refurbishing
I planted 20 new rose bushes, which were donated by our local garden club. I also refinished four teakwood benches in the rose garden; and planted 2 trees in the park where the rose garden is located. -
City Street Sign Survey
Lead a team of four scouts in surveying the street signs for a two square mile section of Brooklyn NY. Identified over two hundred signs in need of replacement, repair, or other reconsideration (i.e stop vs. yield). -
Cleaned historic Cemetary
I organized a scouts to clean an overgrown historic cemetary with graves predating the Civil War. I got the county to put a sign up for the cemetary. My troop found a buried Spanish tombstone from the 1500's (VERY heavy) and gave it to the local museum -

Clothes Drive
My Eagle project was to collect clothes and donate them to the Salvation Army to give to the poor and homeless. To my surprise, the out come was more than a van full, they had to make a second trip to collect all the donated clothes. -
Community Shelter
Our community is building a shelter to accomodate events and groups that use our new community park. My project envolved the preparation, construction and finishing of the post and beam structure including the painting of supports and all trim work. -
Contentnea Creek Canoe Trail
Cleared creek of downed trees and trash on a stretch of about 2.5 miles. This was the continuation of the trail which was begun in 1991.
Coyote enclosure
I built a coyote enclosure for my local zoo. Previously the animals had been in a cement-floored aviary cage. Now they have room to run and dig. -
Created a new nature trail at a local park
We made a new nature trail at a small park in my town. We cut, chopped, pulled and whatever to create a 1/4 mile trail that was 4 feet wide. We then laid down mulch and created steps with railroad ties leading into it. - r

Drug abuse Program - Ishekool Beauty Pageant
My project consisted of writing, casting, filming and distributing a video that explored the problems resulting from drug abuse. The program was a comedy that ran aproximatly 12 min. and is intended for sixth to eighth grade students. -
Easel making
I made 40 easels for my church. -
Elementary School Garden Boxes
The local elementary school has a garden / life lab program and the rabbits were eating up the crops. I built garden boxes, made the fence rabbit proof, put rock on pathways,  put up two rabbit proof fences and two signs. -
Emergencey Water Storage
Aquired a pamlet of approved ways to store emergency water  
. Went door to door in community and spent a few minutes and told them briefly what was in the pamphet and left it with them to study. -
Emergency Hygiene Kits for the Homeless
I organized donations and made 100 personal hygiene kits for our local homeless shelter. The kits were valued over $1000. They contained, shampoo, a comb, soap, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a razor. -
Face-Lift For A School
Built flower boxes (planted flowers), painted flag pole, trimmed shrubs, mowed lawn, painted safety lines/ramps -
Fingerprinted children and adults in the community at a city home days celebration during the summer. 500 People were fingerprinted. -
Fire Awareness weekend
I went around the City of Mt. Angel in Oregon and tested the smoke detectors of the residents of the city if they did not have a working smoke detector then I intstalled one for them. -

I went around to local cemetaries and counted veterans graves so enough flags for memorial day could be purchased and no veterans grave would go without a flag. -
Food Drive
I held a food drive on two consecative days at a san jose sharks game. My goal was to bring in 1,000 pounds of food but I was able to bring in over 14,000 pounds. -

Fort Lamar Information Kiosk
My troop, T-44 and I completed an information Kiosk in co-op with SC Dept. of Natural Resources at an old Civil War fort near Charleston, SC. The kiosk has a roof, and a display board for maps of the civil war battle of Secessionville. -l
Freedom House
A battered woman's shelter in town was in great need of cloths and toys for the women and kids staying there. Over 5 weeks a drive was held at local stores in town and a radio ad went on during the drive. More than 4,000 items were collected and $500+.
Garden for the Disabled

My Eagle project was building a gazebo/trestle in a park in my town. It is for people in the park to take a respite in and also for wedding pictures to be taken in. -
Gazebo Construction
I coordinated the construction of a 12' x 12' gazebo with a 16' handicap access ramp and a hip roof, at a local park. The gazebo was "stick-built" by parents and Scouts in my unit. I have almost 500 hours in this project. -
Gift of Sight
For my Eagle Project I collected some 1,572 pairs of used prescription eyeglasses for distribution to the poor and needy in third world countries. This project is sponsored by LensCrafters and the Lions' Club International. -
Groundcover Project
For my eagle project, I planted 70 groundcover plants around my church parking lot, along with 1200 pounds of new top soil. I also supervised the planting of 19 trees. This groundcover will spread in great amounts through the years. -
Handicap Boat Ramp
I was able to provide Shaver Lake community a boat access that is not always provided to persons who have physical challenges on a daily basis. These are things we take for granted that give great independence to those who are dependent on others.
Hearing Aids

Humane Society Pet Cemetary Renovation
Our Humane Society's cemetary was in need of repair so my project included a new fence, building benches for people to sit on, landscaping, planting trees, making markers and making a map of the animals buried there and who their owners were.
Hunter Safety Training aids
I built indoor training fences to be used in hunter safety  classes to demonstrate the proper way to cross fence lines  while carrying a gun. -
Identification Cards
I had 150 identification cards donated to me by a local police dept. And fingerprinted 100 elementary kids. On the ID card it had fingerprints, a photograph, and the height and weight of each child. -
Installing Benches
Located and cleared sites for 8 park benches on Hillside National Wildlife Refuge near Lexington, MS. Benches were donated by a local club and refuge provided materials.
Internet wiring
I raised over $2,200 in order to buy equiptment to hardwire St. Jospeh School in Lewiston, ME to the Internet. I also bought a laser printer, a digital camera, and many other small things for the computer lab. I completed my project in October of 1997.
Jackson Township Wood Duck Habitat Project

Jungle Gym
I had a Jungle gym built at a elementry school in Paradise, Tx. It took three Saturdays, in over hundred degree weather. -

Labeling Storm Drains
We labeled 197 Storm Drains in Boise, Idaho to warn people not to dump toxic waste into them. The contact agency for this project was the City Environmental Department.
Laid Sod for My Church
My church had just built a building to hold activities. The area around it needed sod. So I prepared the soil for and laid sod. -
Landscaped a Church ParkingLlot
We planted upwards of 140 bushes around a new praking lot built by the church where our troop meets. -
Landscaping around new Church Sanctuary
With the help of my Scout Troop and members of the church, in a two weekend period, we were able to put in landscaping, mulch, and sod around the church's new 2300 seat auditorium. There was a combined time of 480 hours of physical work involved. -
Low Ropes Course

A scout named Fernando Fernandez handled one of our Telephone Pioneers' on-going project. Painted a multi-colored map of United States on an elementary school playground to teach geography using games. -
Markers to Honor Deceased Veterans
Built 50 white crosses, 2'x3', painted white, attached posts with pipes to hold American Flags. Crosses placed along local main street on national holiday to honor deceased veterans. -

Mission Rosaries
After hearing a mission appeal from Sr. Moira of the Missionary Sisters of the Most Holy Rosary, I organized a group and we made 300 rosaries for the sisters to use in their missionary work in Africa. -
Mounting Safety Signs
Organized 5 groups to mount 160 safety signs across Lake Allatoona, Georgia for the Allatoona Lake Association. Signs remind boaters of new law requiring children under 10 to wear P.F.D. while watercraft is underway. -

Nature Sanctuary Building Restoration
Cleaned out and repaired an old, unused building at a nature sanctuary, which had collected 20 years worth of junk. This building can now be used during the sanctuary's summer nature cam program. -
Nature Trail
The gutters from the assphault portion were cleaned. More stone was laid on the stony portion. Two water tiles, which pour water from one side of trail to the other were unclogged and trenches dug on the other side of them to prevent future stop ups.

Open air Storage
Built a roof over a chain link enclosure to secure pool and water polo equipment at Oakmont High School in Roseville CA.Entailed coordinating with the school,the City Parks & Rec and Building Depts. and the State Artchitect. -
Operation Smart Bulb
A Smart/911 light bulb was distributed. The bulb has a computer chip inside. It is used in the outside light holder. If the switch is flipped once, it is a regular bulb, but if flipped twice, it blinks so the EMS, Police, etc. find the house quickly.

Operation Smoke Detector
I had a bake & yard sale,solicited local businesses for donations.I installed smoke det,carbon monoxide det,and fire ext.in elderly,needy,and foster homes picked by social services & the fire marshall.This project was a HUGE success. 363 hours GOOD LUCK! -
Organ Donor Information
I showed a video and passed out information about Organ Donation at health fairs, scout meetings, church group meetings, etc. My father donated the coneas of his eyes when he passed on. I spent 100 hours on my project. -
Orienteering Course
Built an orienteering course aproxmitly 1/2 mile long at Katherine's Landing near Lake Mohave AZ. -

I built an outdod\or calssroom for a local school. I also suronded it wuith benches and made the trail leading up to the clssroom.

Outdoor classroom/picnic area for Elementary Schoo
I cleared the land and mulched the area beside Hallyburton  
Elementary School. I also built from scratch 5 wooden picnic tables. The school uses this area for various learning activities and at lunch too. -
Painted room directional signs and room numbers
Our middle school is very large and very old. I painted directional signs for rooms like the office, music and cafeteria and painted all the room numbers in bright orange paint in large numbers so they could be seen coming down the hallway. -
Painting & Color Coding Fire Hydrants
I cleaned & painted fire hydrants for the Hastings Utilities Water Dept. in Hastings, NE. I painted the barrels silver then painted the bonnets and hose caps either red, orange or green to comply with the AWWA standards for gallons per minute of flow.

Park & Rec Center Office Rennovation
I rennovated a portable building we created a meeting room, removed plumbing, called for estimates on electric,air and plumbing.The place was repainted and carpeted .all donated. I raised donations to feed my crew. I gave back to my community.
Park District Kitchen Remodel
I removed an old concession counter and installed a new kitchen area for the Armington Park District Gymnasium. The project took about 150 total man hours. The gym is used by  various community groups and individuals.
Park Landscaping
eagle scout project was landscaping the new flag pole at the little league/town park. also providing concrete benches to watch games with bushes to landscape the benches. -
Party For The ARC
My friend David held a party at the ARC (The Asociation for Retarded Citizens) in Aloha OR. We played games, had a buffet, and had a wild time. It was a good chance to recognize the mentally challenged as equals to ourselves.
Physical fitness center
i built an outdoor fitness center, with landscaping ties around the border and filled it with woodchips then built equiptment out of presure treated wood, like sit-up benches and chin-up bars. I also put a roofed sign board in the center. -

Project consisted of measuring existing table, drafting plans, making templates for cutting pieces, obtaining materials, and assembling two picnic tables for my local school district outdoor camp. Each 8' table had $80 of donated materials. -

Playground Equipment
My Eagle Project consisted of assembling and installing playground equipment. The Chamber of Commerce payed for and obtained all the equipment and concrete. The project took a total of 40 man hours and since the city paid for all of the equipment. -
Portable Ark for the Torah
I built a portable ark for my temple for the kids in the Hebrew school to use.
prairie restoration
For my project, I restored approxametly 3/4 of an acre of native prarie in a local state park. For this project, we had to cut down all of the brush on the site and pile it into several brush piles. -
Preschool Play Area
I fixed an old Pre-school play area so it could be used again by the children, then I added a sand-box to it. -

As an Eagle project advisor for 20 years here are a few new ideas:  . Adopt a nursing home--An eagle and his troop adopted a nursing home and for a year planned holiday programs, made monthly visits and spent time with residents.  
Promote Teen Safe Driving
In my town, Derry, NH, during a two year period there where 11 teenage fatalities due to auto accidents.I organized a program to be shown at the middle schools and high school of my town. The program had a safe driving message with live speakers. -
Purple Martins' Condo
Built a four story, 32 compartment Purple Martin house at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach VA. Each level was hinged for easy cleaning and contained an airshaft for ventilation. The house is located near the vistor center. -
Railroad Phone Booths
For this project i found two old concrete telephone booths that were used in the early days of the railroad and transplanted them to the local railroad museum as well as landscaped the area. We put in a total of 125 man hours. -
Well, I raised over $2,100 through dinners, car washes, bake sales, etc. I then donated all this money to the Crossroads Drug Rehab Centre. This centre was started by Eric Clapton. Troop 221 LI, NY. -
Reconstructing of a campfire

Refinished Piano
Jared and the Scouts of Troop sanded down and completely refinished the only piano at an elementary school. The piano had carvings with years of students names to 1967. It had been painted several times and really took a long time. . -

Refurbishing Metal Chairs for Church
I organized a work crew to refurbish the metal chairs at my church. A local car dealership donated the labor to repaint them after my crew had sanded and prepared them for painting. -
Refurbishing the Elizabeth Fisher Vessel
As a part of the U.S.S. Intrepid that is docked in New York Harbor, they have recently acquired a 2nd vessel "Elizabeth Fisher" that sits next to it in the water. This ship required refurbishing and cleaning which the scout oversaw and supervised. -
Swepted and cleaned weeds, fixed cracks and repainted black top on the church parking lot. Plus repainted the handicapped symbol and the lines on the lot. A very hot job. -
Replacing Steps @ Little League Field

Restoration of Mill Pond Bridge
Not counting my hours, my group of people took 185 hours to restore an old bridge in my community. It was run down and had been inappropriately used as an atv trail. I refitted the existing bridge and repainted the wooden rails. -
Restoring a 1893 Brass School Bell

The Great Escape
My project was two parts. First, I had the local firefighters go to the school and pass out letters that told of a community wide fire drill. Second, i made a map of the town and sent letters to homeowners that told of their lack of a house number. -

Trail Clean Up
Put steps in on a trail to help stop the erosion and went through the whole 1 mile trail and trimmed branches and weeds from the sides. Also raked the leaves off of the trail so you could see it. It was all done at the local lake. -
Trail Closing
I closed several hiking trails at Great Falls National Park. The technical term is brushing up. I covered the trails with brush, logs, rocks, and any other natural thing around. The goal was to keep people from using the trails later on. -

Training Room Remodel at Wheat Ridge High School

Worked with 911 center to find a place on their computer to enter special info for the address, such as disabled person, blind, etc. Created and distributed forms throughout the county. Used local home nursing agencies, red cross, meals on wheels, etc. -
US Flag Retirement Ceremony

Veteran's Day Assembly/Flag Folding Class

Veterans' Headstones
For my project Scouts and leaders from Troop 200 (Hastings NE) cleaned 586 military issued headstones in our local cemetary. Cleaning the badly stained and water spotted headstones was our way of honoring these men and women. -

Wheelchair Accessable Picnic Table

Wheelchair Ramps

Wildlife Observation Platform
In almost 400 work hours, 29 Scouts and 7 adults over 4 months designed and built a covered observation platform in the Accotink Wildlife Refuge and wetlands at Fort Belvoir, Virgina, more than more than 1/2 mile from the nearest road. -
Wildlife Tower
Lathan supervised the construction of a 12 foot high, 8'X12' Wildlife observation tower at a state and wildlife preserve. Construction included uprights (four power line poles), deck, safety rails, stairs and hand rails. Project was 300 hours. -
Winter Clothing Drive
My Eagle project was a clothing drive by which over 7,500 pieces of winter clothing and blankets were collected, sorted, and donated to various homeless services in the Seattle area. -
Wood Duck Nesting Boxes
I built and erected 15 wood duck nesting boxes and placed them on public wetlands, as indicated by Ducks Unlimited. I will also monitor the boxes and keep information for Ducks Unlimited. -
Xeriscape Garden
In conjunction with the Golden Parks and Recreation Department, I built a xeriscape garden. This project took well over 100 man hours, supplied the community with a nice garden and was a benefit to the city of Golden, CO. -
Zoo Exhibit Rehabilitation
I constructed a stream to alleviate a drainage problem in the Native American tribute at the Columbus Zoo. I also weeded the area, constructed a small garden, and added a number of artifacts. -
